Going to replace the rather tired floor carpet with wood. Reckon will go with oak engineered boards. Anyone here any experience of fitting this in a vehicle? When I fitted it in our house it went straight down as a compression fit; but I reckon I should glue it in the van to help allow for floorpan flex when moving?

Turned out a nice job (IMHO) with the wood floor.
Did consider laminate (to save £££) but I knew really that it wouldnt stand for the slightly flexing of the floorpan on the road.
Also will get fairly heavy use with gritty kids shoes and real wood should suit the van better once its worn a little (techinal term is patina I believe :I).
Took a little longer than I had anticipated once id done all the little infill bits around the wardrobe and bench edges (again if the colour of them doesnt die down a bit with dirt after use I will have to stain them to match the rest of the wood - anyone know what brand stain matches 30year old commer interior?:I)




The problem bit is the non-flat section at the back where the gearbox tunnel is.
I have a cunning plan for this which hopefully should get done before the meet tomorrow.

I made a little box and put a UV light in which is a bit of fun - eerie purple glow at night.
Told the kids it will only continue to make their white T shirts & teeth glow if they keep them clean ;)

I keep seeing those,nice one Jules [^] I would of thought the rear door would be a good place to have it,if you break down & need to wash your hands very handy or as the kids come in at night quick wash & bed [8D]

That would be my 1st choice. But I think the plumbing would be an issue with the opening doors. Havent find anywhere else suitable which is right annoying:(

Engine is coming out for rebuilding again over Xmas.
Im sure theres more power to be had out of the motor than the 111BHP it had when it was dynod.
And it feels a little down on that after only 4K miles.....

A cat eat drawer fronts.
Ohherrr;)

Discovered yesterday that the front of one of my wood drawers has been eaten. After further investigation and puzzling i worked out what had happened. A rat decided to move into the van into that drawer. A cat or small dog must have seen it inside and gone to investigate. Rat retreats to drawer. Cat eats front of drawer in frustration to get at rat. Cat then proceeds to eat large hole in drivers seat as compensation (or maybe rat needed nesting material). All very annoying. My fault as while the engine is out being rebuilt thus leaving a large hole as the hatch wasnt put back my van has become a wildlife sanctuary.
Anyone got spare drawers for an autosleeper?

I had a bit of rodent damage as well when Harvey was laid up for so long - luckily it was confined to an 8 track cartridge, a couple of t towels and the little red knob on the fridge:I
