What a weekend, one of those you just didn't want to stop:cool: So many new faces and new vans to take in. I think I got round everyone but if I missed someone I apologise.
I think saying it was a success is an understatement, it was just the right mix of good food, cold beer (and some lemon flavoured toilet cleaner Colin Hart was trying to force down my throat:eek:) and brilliant music:D I personally never heard a single voice of decent - everyone I spoke to, or came up to me, had the same thing to say 'It was brilliant, superb weekend, loved the vans, lovely people, cant believe how friendly everyone is' More positive comments and thanks flowed:):):) We used to give out awards at the meets one being the best breakdown, but this year it wouldn't have gone to a Commer (GASP) as the only vehicle to arrive on the back of a breakdown truck was a Bedford. As the owner claimed it back off the truck he was heard to mutter 'Wish I'd bought a Commer':D
Andy was an absolute star he single handed filled an extra long wheelbase Sprinter with a huge star tent, two Gala tents, a gazebo and a complete sound stage with deck, amps, lights absolutely everything we needed for the show and drove it all from Oxford, it made the show so special. Martin and Karen were rushed off their feet, as were all the volunteers but I think they will all agree it was worth it:D
Still waiting for some pics that were taken by my photographers (daughter Lucy and partner Paul) but I'm pretty sure that will be worth the wait:cool:
Thanks to everyone for making it all so amazing.

I'd also like to mention how far some of our Commerfans travelled. To mention a few we Had Colin the Fox and Triumph Dan from Devon, Colin Stewart (the Four Franks) from Scotland, Jostien and his family from Norway (huge thanks to Bernie and Heidi for loaning them Gladys their Wanderer), Christian from Belgium and Erich, Sara and Marcus from Switzerland. Many had hundreds of miles to drive and awful traffic to contend with but they all got there, pretty fantastic:D

We are home.Thank you for excepting us into your club.We had an amazing time and would like to thank each and every person we met for making it the best festival ever. will put up more post later but I am off to bed.Colin AKA POSTMAN FRANK

We also realised how generous Commerfans are:) We had a table full of donated raffle prizes and a great selection of items donated to the charity auction. Among the auction items were a lovely Commer cushion made by Diane, a superb Commer bag made by Heidi's sister Helena, a front towing eye made by that master of fabrication Tim (commeracer) A cake stand made from antique plates by Cherry (Rupert the van's owner) A superb elm stool lovingly crafted by Colin the Fox (I won it I won it) and that awesome painting by Edward (On The RoadAgain) Morley, Commerfans really are a talented bunch:cool:
Sterling work, and intimidation, by Moley, Heidi and Barb resulted in quite incredible raffle ticket sales and this added to the total from the auction raised over £800 for secondary the breast cancer charity - thank you so much for your generosity:)
Erich was so happy with his prize which was a genuine Commer part, a lovely jam jar full of rust bashed out of Gladys' front valance - no filler mind you:D

Great weekend, thanks to all who arranged it and all those who took part. Karen and I had a great time and as newbies we felt really welcomed. We are so pleased to have won the picture. It'll take pride of place in our holiday home above the fireplace.

Cheers

Rich

Our immense thanks to all the you talented people who put on such great week-end for us all. We may even have a convert from the Bedford ranks, as Kev was so impressed with the vans on show that there are now hankerings for a Jennings, tourstar or Highwayman.;):D
Jigley was much happier after I stopped and removed a shim from the inhibitor switch on the gearbox, and behaved impecably all the way home.
Great to see so many friends old and new, many I hadn't seen since Commerfest 2010 or Pandy last year, also making a lot of new aquaintances .:) Hope to see you all again soon!!
Once again many thanks to all the crew without whom commerfest would never be.:D:D

Believe it or not I haven't got anything else to say that hasn't been said all ready.

Fantastic weekend. We will share photos in the week when we have caught up with a little sleep..

Thanks everybody for making another brilliant Commerfest xxx

what can I say that hasn't already been said? Thanks to all the organisers and volunteers for their hard work over the weekend! Both myself and Evel had the best time ever!! Was great to meet old friends and new. I do however need to apologise for Evel... He was a bit tipsy and gets to be a show off... He likes to make an entrance. Lol

Testing.Testing.

What better way to test the boy's new "faster than a speeding bullet" fibre connection, than to echo all that has been said about the brilliant weekend, and to thank all those who had a hand in the seamless organisation.

It was good, as a newbie, to put faces to forum names, and to talk Commertrash with folks whose eyes don't glaze over at the mention of "overdrive inhibitor switch". Unfortunately I tend to forget names as fast as I learn them.

Long journey home this afternoon.

I'll be putting a slide show of all those Commers on my raffle prize, which is a little digital photo frame.

Great pictures from Admin in Google pics of all the Commers. I've never seen so many Commers vans in one location. This should be considered a world record!! Great to hear the weather was kind to you and a merry time had by all. Looking forward to more pictures.

It's unfortunate at times being on the other side of the world and missing such an event, Ned Kelly summed it up in his final words before being hanged, "Such is Life"

Well done to all involved,
