luton dunstable was the production line , and the panels were made by british light steel pressings ltd andthrupp and maberly ltd, both of which have ceased trading years ago. i know because ive been on the search or quest to find the original presses, but most roads lead to a dead end. but someone out there must know what happened to them, i jusr hope he gets in touch with me one day.:p;)
 
not as of yet studio.but i will keep looking. im in the process of having a resin pressing made up as we speak to re make the front door steps and the dtreaded rear corners. i know youve all seen me make the rear corners already and i know they look great but they are just to labour intensive, and then become to costly for others to buy. so it looks as though ive got to stump up the cash and have a proper pressing made. only trouble with this is there is a lot of tooling costs up front to the tune of thousands of pounds, but once its made i can stamp lots of them out for future generations to come. this way the cost of the panels will come down aswell.i was even thinking of seeing if there was anyone else out there who would like to buy into the buisness with me and do it together.[?]:p;)
 
hi admin any chance you can addthose photos onto my web page please of the door casings and carpets, cheers mate. oh also i need you to send me that front inner casing that wraps around the front of the van please asap because debs wanted me to make her one and i i want some for stock pleaase.:p
 
my god woolfy [:0] press tooling is going to be very expensive, and you will have to sell thousands before you make money back, it would be very cheap to make them though. is your shed big enough to house a 200 ton press [?]:D

i know tim if you make a proper metal pressing its tens of thousands, but if you make the pressing out of a hard resin you can usually get a couple of hundred panels or so made before it brakes, but still costs a few thousand. its a big gamble im having to take but i hope it will pay off in the long run. it just depends on people buying them once ive made it.;)[?] but they will be more affordable as well i hope.
 
I'd be interested in a pair of "reasonably priced" corners (reasonable in terms of a £500 van!)

might be able to help a bit woolfy, i have been machining some moulds for resin castings,for testing satellite structures this week.
working with someone that does alot of resin work so i can get some ideas from him ;) certainly a much cheaper way to go, and for a short production run ideal [8D]

yeah, they are a nightmare, all within .004", costing ££££££££££, so they can bolt them on and vibration test, then throw them away [:0]
not quite up to the technology level of commers, but close ;):D
