Commer to the rescue...

When the wife bumped the Merc earlier this week I thought our weeks camping was off.... but then thought hey, pull the caravan with the Commer. Ok it's only 50 miles away, but it is up and down all the way, and the van weighs 1200kgs... anyway, she did fine... no problems. Anyone else pulled a caravan much?

I know, what was I doing going camping in a caravan anyway...?

Peggy and I towed Andy and Babs to the camp-site at Pandy - only about 6/7 miles though!

Spare a Commer Guv?
If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

I know Panky.. did feel guilty. At least we get to cruise around St.Ives in the Commer while we're here. Which is great when ur knee deep in vw's.

I know we all often say how well our Commer did at some thing or the other but...

Didn't our Commer pull a caravan really well back from St.Ives today. Couldn't believe how fast we were able to go, often up relatively steep gradients.. 55mph no problem. And we only used 2nd gear twice... amazing pulling power!

Plus it was great to have the Commer when going out for the day instead of a car. May do it again.

It's what they were built for if you think about it. Commercial vehicles with decent pulling power, if they didn't do the job then all the builders, plasterers, electricians and a multitude of other trades wouldn't have bought them in the first place[^]
