Commer spotted in Newport IOW

A friend of mine was travelling between Yarmouth and Ryde in the Isle of Wight, and claims he saw a derelict looking Commer in the front garden of a house somewhere in Newport, on the main road. Anyone know of this one?

Yes, there used to be 2. It's in a terrible state, but the owner won't sell.

That Commer should be on the Ordanance Survey map as a landmark and tourist attraction! And dont you just know it will suddenly disappear overnight to a scrap yard!

Tried Streetview? I've found some very interesting stuff using it.

Peggy can do 78mph!
If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

This is the one, there's that much vegitation growing on it, it's difficult to tell where the garden stops :I

That rear overhang almost stretches across to the mainland .. :D:D

This really ought to be saved before it completely disintegrates. [}:)]
The owner should either put it in indoors storage or pass it on to someone else. But I fear neither will happen.. [V]

I tried buying it, but gave up after 2 years! The rear overhang is huge, the guy recons it's a York conversion. Not much left of it now though [V]

I can sympathise (sort of) with the owner - I'd love it in my garden too:I

Just right for a 1000ltr water tank and a really large bunsen burner to heat the water for the Xlong bath it is calling out for! :D
