hi mikal, will be keeping as a camper, but would love a panel van purely for myself as the camper is going to be for family days/weekends and stuff- have another nipper on the way so not sure where i shall find the time to get the van finished.
like the funky side windows, never seen any like that before, good luck hope it goes well
hi there, the windows are from an old atlas or something(not totaly sure)i think i would prefer windows that took up all of the space of the pressed panel on side of van(something like the windows on the 1965 pop top camper in the vehicles for sale bit on the forum)-well see.
have received my new front inner sills today(cheers mart-spot on)-cannot wait to get these welded in place and realy start to get the front end sorted, this will save a lot of messing about..!!! was wondering whether it would be o.k to chop off some of the front of the sill and weld in -i.e the old part of the sill is stillwelded to end of outrigger and cant get to it and dont realy want to start pulling that part of the body apart. am sure i've seen this done this way somewhere.?
I think I'm having the same problem as you - the front end of the inner cill/step where it should sit behind the outrigger under the cab floor. Martin's panels are perfect but to fit it properly would mean cutting the inner valance away and make more work. It's sacrilege but I've trimmed the end off the new panel so it butts up to the outrigger but left a piece so I can weld it across the bottom of the outrigger. If only all our problems where so wonderful[8D]
I did manage to get all of the old cill off though right up to the outrigger, fiddly but satisfying
