Commer PB -Adding a pop up?

Hello everyone,

Been lurking the group for awhile but plan to start the restoration of my Commer this summer
It was originally a people carrier converted to a camper but solid roof.

Only been off the road for 40 years so should be a simple restoration ,lol!!

I have been thinking of adding a pop up top and am looking for recommendations and comments either good or bad!

I am located in Canada but would like to find a suitable top in the UK as I have a container coming over this summer.

Van has a sliding door on the rh side (van a lhd)

I have a PA Maidstone with a concertina pop top. It's the smallest hole you'd need to cut, and was originally the same as used on the Devon VW.

I believe that therefore it should be possible to at least get something from a VW maker that would fit it ...

I would guess that the second of the links is less use because of the curvature of the roof... Very best of luck.

We put a used auto sleeper pop top on a wanderer to replace rotton broken one...some metal work was required if I remember correctly.
