commer pa

Sounding great then, not loving the interior, esp me grandads front room carpet in the Cab, :) But it would do, would think about returning it to original layout over time though.

I think the colour is the nuts, lovin this Van, wonder what he bought it for though, and how did he bloody find it [:(!]

Ah well if it's as nice in the flesh the old wallet might just come out ( Moth's are gonna be flying everywhere. lol.)

I must admit it is reminiscent of the old works MG racing team colours the 'Cream Crackers' as the were known:)

me too! i think the brown aint too bad and it seems a little pearler. Yeah, not crazy about the interior but it could always be replaced for something more in keeping. Reckon it'll be going for a bit more than a couple of grand tho Woolfy.

quite like the milk chocolate myself :p
we should have more meets there seems to be a pa listed each time :p

I stand corrected. Family did not say no, they said I would have to sell something else first. I suspect it may be a Renault or two! :(

I spoke to the seller earlier this evening. Commer sounds as good as it looks in the pics. The reserve is £4000. Is this a good price?

i've seen more tarts than mr kipling

If it's as good as it looks, it's an absolute bargain :p The blue Maidstone sold for under 4000, earlier this year. It was origonal inside, but at this price, I don't think it matters ;)
I know we are all going on about prices, but when you look at what people are having to spend on restorations, mint vans need to go up in price substantially [:0]

Good luck people! WAP, does that mean it comes with some fancy technology built in? :DCarpet looks posh like a hotel one and the brown is fine I reckon.

Hi All

Have been to see this Van today. This is my own opinion of the Van.
Well it's exactly as described, Solid, the 4 owners have all looked after this one.
No rust that i could find anywhere, underneath has been well waxed and all solid, inner sills, jacking points, arches front and back.
Just no rust. :)
Paintwork lets it down slightly, the top half has been hand painted Cream and the Brown looked in places to be hand painted, in other areas just looked very worn, if you tryed to buff it i think you would hit metal.
Bumpers are hand painted silver.
Interior as you can see not original but is in good order.
Yes £4000 is the reserve, I am thinking long and hard about this one, more money than i wanted to spend at this point in time but it is a solid Van.
It's just do i want to spend £4000 on it and not be happy with how it looks, would have to spend top dollar to get a nice paint job on this one. Don't get me wrong, if i did purchase this Van and got it sprayed the next Day, i think i would keep the colour combination, i like it.
So to sum up, the most solid van so far i have seen, paintwork not ideal and the interior not original.
But i love it. [^]

It's worth keeping in mind that these early series ones (?) are few and far between, which makes them all the more desirable. These "grille-less" vans are the original design and all the cooler for it. (The same probably doesn't apply to the engines, as cooling issues led to the ventilator channel - and radiator grille - being introduced in '63. Still, haven't heard of any of these (few survivors) suffering from serious overheating problems, though.)

A seriously attractive early camper, I'm sure we'll all agree on that :)

Sorry guys, It's mine! I've just bought it!

Oh, hang on......................no I was just dreaming, sorry! Seriously though, if I wasn't buying my house (completing on 12th Nov) I would buy it. no-one's mentioned it yet but it even has the side door that I want so much. Colour? Fine until it needs a respray then possibly a change. Interior - absolutely fine. Would have to upgrade the engine and gearbox though. Not only that but it's just up the road too!

Go on, someone get it quick, look after it and in 5 yrs or so I'll buy it off you.
