Commer PA 1962 Hadrian

I know Sanderson supplied some of the autosleeper fabrics - but am presuming that fabric was special for the demonstrator - is there any trace of the Hadrian conversion company left? very long shot but someone may have a record of who supplied original. Sure you could have fabric printed up with scanned pattern but imagine will be huge wads of cash and would only be printed rather than tapestry style - do the local WI/cross stitch society fancy a project?
 
Bit of a long shot but I reckon that fabric is italian,also seen it before but can't for the life of me remember where [8)]Try boy riven (not sure the spelling is right)& the likes automotive upholsterers would be my first port of call. haberdasheries may be able to help,seek & he/she shall find [^]
 
Would it be worth contacting somewhere like The British Museum, or even the National Motor Museum [?]

The Euro theme of the fabric ties in with the 1962 Earls Court Motor Show, judging by the video on YouTube which kept referring to Europe and imminent joining of the Common Market. On the subject of that video, the music put in mind of an early Carry On film :D

Haven't tried tapestry myself yet - still think it looks like a project for a group of avid cross stitchers, or an art college project.They may be tempted if it's for a museum piece - you may even get lottery funding;)[:eek:)] found this company whilst browsing but dread to think how much this sort of thing is[:0]

love the camper Martin you're certainly a glutton for punishment,as regards the fabric it might be worth trying Huddersfield university as they specialise in textile manufacture and design,might be willing to help you as a project.
 
No sorry, Anna (my wife) did her textile degree there but it was many years ago now,won't say how many that would be far too ungentalmanly of me.:D
 
Hadrian also produced a glass fibre-bodied camper, and a small panel van conversion with a raised glass fibre section along the length of the roof. Colin Glazebrook at 'Artco' has a few sales brochures for the Hadrian campers, he sells on ebay!
Never seen a pic of Hadrian campers at Motor Show, keep a look out for the Motor and/or Autocar mags (show issues) from that year.;)
 
year be for i was born,, amazing find didnt realise there were so many commer variants,any idea on value i guess its priceless.
 
just been on my yahoo & had a look at the commer group photo's tried to post a link but it didn't work there is a hadrian apparently in a museum in wales [^]have you seen it or the pic's any one ?
