Commer maidstone 1961 {e-bay}

Wow that looks fantastic:p
I love the little bits that have been added over the years - the door bins, the little basket for bits and bobs, the chrome ash tray and Commer badge on the dash[8D] The previous owners must have been confident that they wouldn't have had any over heating issues as there is only an oil pressure gauge and an ammeter fitted. I reckon you need to re-new the fire extinguisher though;)

How refreshing

And what is that filler pipe up high inside of the left hand side rear door:I
And the little one lower down.

The pipes are for water levels in the on board water tank that is fitted behind the panel by the wardrobe...not sure I would fancy a drink out of it after all these years though!
Whats wrong with the fire extinguisher?
Who needs a temp gauge, its a Commer they dont overheat!

Bloody Commer`s!

It also has some lovely little chrome interior lights that light up when you open them, still in perfect working order. Its a real timewarp camper van.

Very nice, picked up on the Bedford camper on Flicker...thats the most stunning camper I think I've seen, you restore that one?

I restored the Bedford way way back in 1989-1990. The paintwork had become tired and picked up a few marks along the way so I have repainted it again this time in a more period colour, it was green and white originally but I painted it red and white when I first restored it as I had a job lot of Jaguar Regency Red paint to use up.quote:

Hats off to you, beautiful...did always want one of those but impossible to find a good one already done, always remind me of Carry On films. Seem so few left compared to Commers when they were everywhere at one time. hopefully see it in the flesh one day.

Its the only CA panel van conversion with the Calthorpe roof that I have seen, there is a very rare early Calthorpe Coachbuilt Camper around that surfaced a few years back but no more panel van conversions......yet!

Bloody Commer`s!

Confused as hell now (not difficult on a Monday I know)...

Who owns this/is selling it/how much for/where.....? HELP!!!!
