I know, its good is`nt it and I get a lovely flow of fresh air to blow the fumes away only drawback is the roof leaks a lot and the heating does`nt always work very well

The wheels now have the proper full trims and hub caps so do not require painting, I like the idea of a beige stripe though.quote:

Been trying to do more paint prep on the Jennings today but its raining again! Will it ever stop?
For those who are interested in the CI sale saga heres what happened......I had an email from a chap on Monday saying he wanted the van and as soon as he could get a lift up to us he would take it away! Well I have heard that before in the 35 odd years that I have been selling vehicles so I did`nt hold out a lot of hope of hearing from him again, however yesterday he called at 1pm to say that him and a friend were just leaving Aldershot and would be with me soon, Aldershot is about a 3 hour drive.
It got to about 6pm and there was no sign so I thought he was either stuck in horrendous traffic or he was`nt coming and as he had`nt called to say he was running late it seemed that the latter was applicable.
At just after 7pm there was a knock on the door and there was stood a man and his partner to view the CI. I said that I had thought you were`nt coming to which he replied " I said I would be here at 7" Well he had`nt said that but who am I to argue? They had a good look at the van, discussed sleeping layouts, listened to the engine, kicked the tyres and said they would let me know later on or tomorrow to which I replied "its a long way back to Aldershot if your going to come back for it" "we are`nt from Aldershot, we are from Sudbury" was the reply, so it turned out that this was not the man I had been expecting but someone else who had just turned up out of the blue and claimed to have spoken to me and arranged to view at 7pm.....I had`nt spoken to anyone else other than the Aldershot man!!!
So I scratched my head, furrowed my brow and went in to watch Corrie. I thought that was the end of the days activities, how wrong!
At 9pm the phone rang " Hello Alan its Bernie (Aldershot man) we have just arrived in Wisbech, how far are you from the coach station, can we walk to you?" Well we are 9 miles from the coach station as we do not live in Wisbech, so I told him to sit tight and I would come and pick him up. It turned out that he and his friend had decided not to come by car but to get the coach which meant a coach trip to Victoria in London and then a 2 hour wait for a coach to Wisbech, they had indeed set off at 1pm and it had taken 8 hours to get to Wisbech. I collected them and we drove back to my house where they had a cursory look at the van, had a cup of tea, sorted the V5C, paid the money and set off for Aldershot..... by this time it was gone 10pm.
I dont mind telling you I was worried for them, they set off on a 150 mile trip in a strange old camper, not a clue where they were, no sat nav, no breakdown cover in case of trouble, hardly any fuel, as by that time of night all garages here are closed and of course no insurance.
They actually got home safe and sound at around 3am, about the same time I got to sleep!
So it all worked out well in the end....but, what if I had sold the van to the couple who turned up at 7pm thinking they were from Aldershot and then had the 9pm call from the buyer who I had given up on, saying he was in Wisbech, he would have had no chance of getting home till today as there are no buses, or coaches at that time of night nor do we have a rail link.
Motor trade anyone??
