I considered the mini set up (even trial fitting one) but didnt go with it as:
1) They tend to be a bit of a screamer at revs which is fine on a MIni but can be tiring on long journeys (I am planning to take mine to Italy when its finished)
2) Too many bends in the configuration which loses torque
3) Cant be hung high enough - I like an exhaust which hangs really high and out of the way of trouble

After some trial & error I went for one of these:

It hangs nice and high in the recesses of the floorpan (above spare) with minimal bends and comes out with a fairly quiet but deep note. I think visually its quite nice but thats just my opinion

looks good, specially like tail pipe!

Are you going to weld it up? I had a clamped up exhaust on the minor for a while - it was good, but it kept coming loose.

I can't really tell from the photos, but you are using a different manifold aren't you so the exhaust comes out on the LHS (I'm using the original down pipe so I'm fitting to the RHS).

Will the propshaft fit with the exhaust on! Do you have a water tank in?

and what is the spridget shaped thing?!?

Got your engine thing off last week.

Clamps should be OK - after all that is standard practice for all factory exhausts. Also if you weld it you cant adjust it later if it resonates or knocks against something. They shouldnt come undone if you use spring washers.
No the pipe is coming out R/H/D side. Yes it clears prop OK. Yes I still have water tank.

Found this on ebay.

hope it fits a little easier than the Holbay version as i think the sceptre 1725 is vertically mounted... Anyway i'll let you know when it turns up.
 
Yes my extractor was a fiddle, but after a few hours of fiddling its gas tight now. I'm afraid you might find yours the same as the problem is the different thickneses of the inlet and exhaust castings.

we had this problem with the riley, i overcame it by turning up some spacers the right thickness and cutting them in half.

Looking good[8D][8D][8D]

Bigger bore made a big difference in performance on my van whilst still follows roughly original shape so yours even better for being smoother and straighter - should work out brilliantly - an interesting workshop to get visits from passing Morgans[^]
