8 tracks now were talking;) Just brought myself a brand new genuine rootes 8 track player for the pickup;) Even brought myself a recorder for the house so i can put some modern tunes on 8 track for when the motown gets a bit much;)

Hey Jon; I'm going retro too; been picking up 8 tracks on the cheap and got one for home and one for the van AND a cassette adapter - I'm hoping to use a cassette to 3.5mm jack adapter and listen to ipods and all sorts through it. The way I see it if someone does nick an 8track they have good taste.

Im working on an 8 track cartridge to 3.5 jack plug adapter should have it done soon. Those tape player adapters are not very good quality so you may get a big loss in sound as your going through 3 tape heads before the sound comes out the speakers;) My conversion will be tape head to tape head just like the cassete ones then you have to select the right program out the 4 to align the heads to get the best sound.
If you want an 8 track recording with your favorite songs on i can do one. I want to make a 8 track mp3 cartridge with an sd card reader fitted to it so one cartridge could hold 100s of songs.I will make one when ive got some spare time;)

Look at this one with an ipod flushed in it:

That's cool[8D] I fancy having a go at that - all I need is an 8 track player, the last one I had went up in smoke:I
