Yes Gav they will, but you may need to swap a few bits over, ask Panky ;)

Hi Gav, as Tim said it will go in but a few swap-overs needed. First forget the Sceptre gearbox unless you want to do some serious interior jiggery pokery on it, your Commer one will bolt straight on to the Sceptre engine. You will need to use the Commer flywheel to be able to fit the 8 1/2" Commer clutch though. Next to the front of the engine where the Commer thermostat housing and water pump are used. You will also need the Commer sump pan - the Sceptre rocker cover may need modifying as the oil filler will be very close to the bulkhead. The inlet and exhaust porting is different so you can't use the Commer manifolds (bonus:)) so hopefully the engine will come with the twin exhaust down pipes which will also need cutting and moding to fit the Commer engine bay. It's a bit of faffing about but well worth it in the end[^]
I'm not sure if you'll get away with the twin choke Solex, it sits a little high so you may need to source a set of twin Strombergs - or get Tim to make you a manifold to take a big SU[8D]
Forgot to mention the front plates will need swapping as well for the engine mounts. Appart from the exhaust it's all straight forward nuts and bolts so easy peasey:)
While your at it re-new the core plugs or they will give you grief in the end[xx(]

It will be the same.
Actually I'm beginning to wonder about the gearbox. The engine I fitted was from a fast back Rapier and the gearbox from a Hunter GT so the engine was canted over slightly and the bell housing was a lot deeper. These are earlier engines that sit upright and the bell housing looks no deeper than the Commer one, the second one has overdrive as well :p (if it's included in the sale)
It might be worthwhile asking the sellers to measure the ball housing from face to face and compare it to yours - or can anyone else advise.
