Commer Down Under

Yeah! I dont have much to complain about really, its been an awesome experience so far.
Yes Panky we did win a prize,, will have to try and add some more trophies to the cupboard before we head home, The attention the van gets in the country towns is massive.

Driving a Commer is a great way to meet people,it always puts a smile on their faces. I am also gaining an enormous amount of respect for the stock/original Commer running gear. I would be kidding myself if i didnt admit that i was at times not overly confident about the Commers ability to undertake this trip reliably, especially as it would have been a long haul for it even when new. It is doing massive amounts of miles, towing a heavy trailer and takes a beating on the rough roads. All in All i am pretty impressed with its performance for its age so far.

Thanks for reading the blog guys,

Driving in a small blizzard,
Unique feature of Commer wipers, push the snow up under the peak so so it can fall back down again,:) then in front of passengers side. At least the Smiths heater is keeping the cab slightly above freezing.[^]

After two nights in the Commer we broke our no1 rule of not staying in accommodation and retreated to a cabin to thaw out.

In between snow ball fights and snow man building Amelia did some deicing.
