Commer Dormobile

Hi. Im looking for a commer camper, preferably a dormobile (are they called coasters?) Also any ideas what price range for one that goes in fair condition? One i was bidding for on ebay recently went for £1600 which seemed very steep for it's condition. Will pay good money for a nicely restored one but would also consider anything that goes!

Evening galago, I haven't personally seen many Dormobile conversions available but I am sure there must be some out there. The most popular by far is the Autosleeper which appear regularly in comparison to others but if you are prepared to wait you might get lucky. I think Martin has satisfied his lust for campers for the moment (he's bought 'Chloe') so if one does come up you are in with a fighting chance. Have you sold your splitty yet?

No haven't sold her yet. Couple more camping dates before I do. Will be a big wrench:( but finding a commer as a replacement will help me get over it I'm sure.
The fact that the Dormobiles are rare make me want one more of course![}:)]

Hi galaco. i dont know if your interested in an Autosleeper, on page 16 of classic car weekly, dated aug 23rd.
It reads:- COMMER AUTOSLEEPER,1969, 3-4 berth, sink, cooker, fridge, lift up roof, full MOT, full Tax, Excellent condition, reliable, 74,000 miles, Present owner for 10yrs, good reason for sale, much admired camper van, £1,850. Tel:-01482 701606, East Yorks.
It looks good from the small picture in the add, but pictures can be deceiving. May be worth a look. Nice colour, light green bottom half, white top half with a green autosleeper lid on top. Worth a call at least.

hey paul :Dhow's it going missing the adventures of Nomad looks like he will sell [}:)] :(couldn't you put a v8 in so you don't have to :p

hi Chris, plenty of interest, and plenty of 'silly offers' as well, i hope you sell yours! :D V8?...lol find me a worthy front disc set up that'll stop it and i might consider it for my next commer!..lol.[}:)]

pending enquiries for stopping ;)[}:)]:phope you will be keeping in touch, might start seeing you at some of these festivals [}:)]

I think the 'dropside' pickup on Ebay would be a good candidate for a V8 conversion to be honest(ahh i hear the screams of Commer purists!!).Wouldnt be hard to strip down to bare chassis and rebuild back around the newly installed running gear.
Yes you may just bump into me at a festival next year for sure.
Just because im selling my Commer dosent mean i wont be on the forum, ill still be as regular as ever..:D

don't let martin or jon hear you say that [}:)]you will put ideas in their heads [^]or tim or panky or charlie or woolfy lol
