Commer Dandy Chris,s NEW RIDE

fixed huray [8D]
can re connect when it's stopped raining :p
while it was chucking it down I found MORE leaks [:0] just when I thought he was almost water tight [V]
This time from the windows,...oh well had some practice on Sybhil :D& not much damage so caught in the nick of time I think :D
cleaned all the Racers oily foot prints off the floor & washed mats,MOT runs out very very soon so I think the Colonel needs a quick jaunt :D[}:)]:D now where did I leave the keys :p

Spent today having a look under the front roof to see what the damage is
doesn't look to bad under the ali skin, there is a small section of wood in between the main beams which has suffered so next time I will replace it.I gave it a good scrub with the wire brush & lots of silicon type stuff refixed the stip that covers the join,so my fingers are crossed, again :I didn't get pic's as it was too high for my liking :D but I did get these pic's

I tried to get a pre mot check at our local garage but The Colonel wouldn't fit,we ended up breaking the home made sky light :I[:0]
so I spent some time repairing it instead.Another day & another garage I think.

No four post lift,a pit & a low roof [:0] I measured too big ? Racer measured might just do it ? = Don't even try :I
it could have been worse ;)
Good news I get to take him for a 20 mile drive to the next nearest but not sure if they will do a pre mot check,so may have to get Tim to do some jobs first :( oh well at least this time of year no urgency :D

With the lack of any infomation on Dandy Caravanettes I stumbled upon beaulieu museum & put in an enquiry this is the latest reply

"After searching through Club Magazines, ‘The Caravan’ magazine and our collection of sales brochures, unfortunately we can find no information on the Commer/ Dandy Caravanette. There is plenty of information on the Dandy trailer tent range but unfortunately nothing on their more unusual line of motor vans on any chassis.

I’m afraid I can’t really suggest another organisation who may have some more information as the historic caravan clubs, who hold considerable archives, do not tend to hold motor van information.

I’m really sorry I have not been able to provide you with any information, but wish you luck in the rest of your search.

With very best wishes"

so if any one knows any thing at all about Dandy Caravanettes please let us know (pm's may not be getting through)

Wasn't it Martin Watts who identified The Colonel, maybe he could shed more light on his history.
