Still pulling badly to the D/S despite new shoes/cylinder and a drum skim on the N/S, and adjusted right up to near binding [xx(]

They do say brakes should be changed in axle pairs. Is it worth trying to ease off the adjustment on the o/s to even out the balance?

Its had exactly the same on the d/s except the drum skim. I am a bit reluctant to back off the good brake to match the poor one [}:)]
It does have a lazy piston on the leading shoe, so maybe.......

Seems that the grease in the NOS cylinder was a bit gummy [xx(] a bit of cleaning and WD40 now has the pistons moving free, so hopefully :I
