Hello, i have been thinking about swapping my VW bay camper for a commer. I'm new to this and from what research i have done, i think they are wonderful. Does anyone know where i can find a commer campervan for sale and what price i should expect to pay for a good runner with little work to be done?

I think im ready to convert!

Hi Dan and welcome to the Madhouse:D
You are very wise turning from the darkside;) The good news is that at the moment Commers are a lot cheaper than VW's - useable to very good examples £3000/£5000 and an absolute belter £10,000 (and going up). The bad news is that people are 'discovering' Commers and as they are rare in comparison to the opposition there aren't that many around, but be vigilant and don't snap up the first one you see unseen - like any other classic there's some rubbish out there:(

Thankyou for the response. Are there any shows coming up where I can see them in the flesh? any good sites or places they come up for sale?

You are welcome to come to Commerfest, you will have to bring a tarpaulin if you come in a VW. There will be a broad selection there. As Admin says, prices are on the up, with a few recently selling at 10k and above, but a compare able VW would be 30k.

Perfect. and I presume there may be a few for sale there too? I'm in London but soon to move to Norfolk. I'll keep an eye out for the commer fest and also the for sale forum. I rarely see any on the road but they are gorgeous.

You may be lucky and find one for sale at Commerfest but people are hanging on to them - they get under your skin and you just don't want to sell:) But there will be plenty to look at and see the multitude of conversions that are out there:cool:

And if you are heading to Norfolk then you're even closer to commerchris and commeracer :)
