Commer camper (with overdrive)

Bottom radiator hose, exactly what has happened here, just hope it failed and isn't pressure from a leaking head gasket.... shouldn't be went over 250 miles with the test drive. Can someone save me some time and point me in the right direction for a hose set, only problem is I can't pinpoint the engine as the helpful advice given on the other post has number prefixes I can't find [:(!] (maybe I am looking in the wrong places). It is originally a 1500 but seems on the MOTs etc to have had a 1725 fitted.[?]

Here are some pics, sorry only a camera phone so a bit rubbish. INterior shots once the front seats and engine cover isnb't piled up in the back.:I

Proper pics once it is back together, oh and if anyone has a picture of the front seat mechanisim for sliding the bed I need to make one as the bloke thought it was a broken arm rest when he upholstered it. The release bar is there under the seat but the bit behind the centre seat has been cut off.[xx(]

And I have someone elses door, I will check redge etched in but you can't have it back:D

Wow Stan looks great, can't wait to see more pics. Looks proper nice. I'm gonna say lady luck is on your side and it was just a tired and weak hose that gave way after such a long run.
Hose's replaced and your on the road, again looks fab, well chuffed for you and Mrs Stan and baby Stan.

I have just had some new hoses re-manufactured, £18.00 the pair + P&P.
Nice looking van, looks to be very straight :p

Think commer vans think it is cool to be picked up by a recovery truck:I

Cazz...Is just Commer mad, and talks a load of nonsense

Nice work Stan, looks a lovely honest van - you must be so chuffed [8D]

Loving the colour too, so rather glad it doesn't have a side door otherwise I'd really be kicking myself for not getting it instead of restoring ours.

Fingers crossed that he split hose is nothing too serious

Well done for getting in there quick; looks like you've got yourself a very straight van indeed. I love the wheel/body colour combo, but get some chrome on those wheels!

Will soon be appearing in Readers Rides just as soon as get time for some new pics:). Will give a propoer account of trip back and the current 'priorities'.

Radiator hoses done and seems (fingers crossed/touch wood, luckily there is lots of wood inside the Commer) to be running fine. Hardly any gunk out of the system when we flushed it either:). Think we will replace the rest of the heater hoses as these look suspect too[B)].

Big thanks to our friendly mechanic for all your help, you know who you are if you are reading:D

Check out Mr 2 blue stars. Bad luck on the other diesel one ReadingFlynn. You are not the only one pleased it started up nice and sweetly again.:D Just had a slightly flat battery from sitting on the side of the motorway with the lights on for so long. Luckily it has two huge leisure batteries in the back so it jumped off these, way better than having to get another car along[8D]. Just need to source a crank handle as real emergency back up;)
