I'm just getting to know these vans and I'm formulating a long list of questions. So here goes with the first. Are you supposed to sleep accross the van in most of these conversions? Are the beds long enough? or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

If they are long enough depends on how tall you are. If you need extra length, then highwayman may be the answer as it gives you the option of a cross bed and an extra long bed which runs lengthways and can be used as a single, or pulled out into a double.

The maidstone conversion gives you a full size bed! I am 6'4 and can stretch out on mine! [)]
