VW scene is VERY clicky, splitty guys wanking over the number of windows in a van, early/crossover bays, late bays, 25's - although they don't seem to mind, T4's (don't mention a bag of cement or they'll get pissed off) and new money T5/6 scene.. I never knew lol, but then I'm not into the whole scene thing, we use our van for music festivals and motorsports meets mostly, a tidy commer camper would suit me, retro styling and no bullshit scene to conform to. And they do look pretty cool, and you lot seem like a friendly bunch of lads too, I'm not paying 17 big ones for a dodge tho haha! Give me a shout if you notice an early one around, I'd be interested in a resto/camper conversion for sure.
We are not all Lads there are a few ladettes. Welcome aboard, good luck with you hunt....you will wait ages then 3 will come along at once!
We never mention a 'Commer Scene' It's not a lifestyle choice it's common sense
We enjoy our vans for what they are not for any kudos that might come with them - and they usually have the same number of windows. The fact that they are the coolest ride on the planet has nothing to do with it
And yes, as Chris says, all our Commerettes are gorgeous - and the lads are real men - and usually a bit oily under the finger nails

I've heard they are very clicky and snobby in the VW scene.... Not like that here.
I won best shed with The Colonel,hope I don't get it again with the pa!

Will they really start going for this sort of money? Good for us but would be a shame for people wanting somthing classic but can't afford a vw price tag. I for one would never have afforded one not that mine is anything as restored as that (but he is mine and love it)
It depends how bad someone wants it. To someone who has a VW in similar condition then it would look like a bargain and I'm sure the speculators are keeping their eye on things. The most I've heard of one going for was £11,ooo a couple of years ago but i'm sure there must have been a couple since topped that.

That's a lovely van but it's a lot of money, but then it's sorted and ready to go - if it were a splitty it'd probably be listed for 30k +
