First time I've seen a Highwayman with both hammocks!

I am not a person, I am a number, 395 actually......Be seeing you!
If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

Hello all, sorry my first post is a bit of a negative one but I have some info about the above. I'll say a proper hello in a another post.

I had arranged Wednesday to go and see the van last Sunday at 11.00am. I had a phone call Saturday morning from the seller saying that someone had phoned him that morning and offered him cash but that I still had first refusal. Myself and the wife jumped in the car immediately to get there before the other potential buyer could at 2pm as arranged (which was easy considering it was only 10:30am) only to receive a call when on the motorway that the other buyer had arrived three hours earlier than arranged and the seller wasn't prepared to stall him or send him away for an hour until I arrived despite me offering to match the money offered and reminding the seller that I had in his own words "first refusal".... I even went so far as to offer to pay £50 toward the other buyers fuel for a wasted journey! But alas the seller wasn't willing to wait so the van got sold before I could get there much to the disappointment of me and my wife.

The background of the sake was that the camper was found by the seller on a banger racing website and was set for demolition derby. The seller thankfully paid him not to smash it up and then advertised it himself. The new owner arrived with a truck to transport it away back to I believe Birmingham. Not certain if its anyone on here?

I would like to add I'm not upset at the new owner as he played the game and won on the day, just a little disappointed at the sales tactics of the seller as I was prepared to buy the van last Wednesday but was told I could not see it until the Sunday. Back to the drawing board for us - but I'm sure something Highwayman shaped will turn up at some point :)

That is just Bad luck and just not very nice.[:(!]
It obviously wasn't meant to be and i am sure you will find a much more suitable van soon.;)

Good luck and welcome to the Commerunity.[8D]

Gutted for you, but I'm sure there's another van waiting for you and your wife. Keep looking and one will turn up. And welcome.

Thanks everyone, it was a bit of a let down and ultimately not how I would do business but I'm sure there are other vans out there. Being new to the scene (as with any when you first start) its always difficult to gauge availability, pricing etc. Looking forward to regularly popping up on here to get involved :)
