Well I think I've done it!

The first clip is our first trip in JKT 661E in the Spring of 1968. JKT was new in 1967, a Wanderer by Bluebird. The clip goes on a bit and includes footage of Bovington Tank Museum. I am the little boy with two big sisters!

The second clip is later in the year in the Yorkshire Dales on our way to Scotland.

Turn your volume down, I couldn't get rid of the crackle!

Health and safety hadn't been invented in 1968, we were allowed to have accidents and they were our own fault. [}:)]

However, my Dad was concerned about the lack of a bonnet on the Commer, so front seat passengers were advised that in the event of a crash, they should lift their legs to avoid getting them crushed. When we were hit by a Vauxhall Cresta driven by a drunk the only casualty was me when I got knocked under the table and a box of bottled fruit on the floor slid forward collapsing the leg of the table which then fell on me! Afterwards my Dad asked if anyone had remembered to lift their legs. The predictable answer was 'no'! [:0]

Van was repaired, but I'm not so sure about the bump on the head! ;)
 
Renaultvation, can you remember if the shots in the Tank museum were taken on their Open Day? The reason I ask is that I was there with my then young children, on the Open Day in August 1968, in guess what?----my 1961(ish) Commer Dormobile! We were camped somewhere in Weymouth, with my parents, who slept in a four-berth caravan which I had towed down from South Wales.How that poor little 1500 motor coped I don't know, but the only problem I had was a broken fuel pipe just outside Warminster.Happy memories!!
 
That would have been a bit of a coincidence if we had both been there on the same day! I don't know the exact date, but it was Spring and may have been Easter. It was our very first trip having just bought the Commer.

Hi this is great, nice to see you still interested in commering, these times must hold good memorys for you, It reminded me of my holidays camping when I was young, I hope our kids have fond memorys of our commer trips, Brad thinks the commer is the best thing since sliced bread and on sunday at the rally had all his mates in the commer, I think he was showing off, but they all said they loved it.
