Chris's new new new new ride

Thank you all...cant wait to crack on....picking something up tomorrow for it......something else coming in post soon too. Exciting times.

You will have to wait for Mr knowledgeable to come along my understanding is they only make them for a few engines.....My expectations to have daily use if I wish no rides on trucks! I will poke Mr Racer!

It's a stand alone fully mapable ignition that triggers off the crank, so it gets rid of the dizzy altogether and all the slop and potential problems associated with it. We fitted one on Kermit and it was a major leap forward.
Megasquirt is the equivalent system for fuel injection Jim.

Every time I Open rear doors seems to poor water in the back or it's raining & comes straight in,....Roll on summer,so I had a go at making a canopy it's functional & everything used was kicking around

We have the same (perhaps worse) condebsaton problems. The real problem seems to be not driving el van for 2 weeks. I know a fix for that ☺
i like the canopy idea!
re the megajolt: interesting ! I gather from a few other sitesthat an electronic distributor has a similar effect (i guess not quite as 'slop-free' as the megajolt) - that was re a triumph 2500 engine but also read similar reports for 1725 rootes.

I used to fit Lumenition to all my petrol vehicles, including racing engines. It's a simple fit, and certainly does away with rotor wear slop, condensers and points bounce. It keeps all the vacuum and centrifugal advance timing characteristics. I'd recommend it to anyone. The dizzy still looks pretty original to...........but if you have a V8 I guess that's not a consideration.

The MJ works with manifold air pressure, or a throttle posistion sensor. Unfortunately a dizzy with the most fancy electronics is still suffering from spark scatter due to it being driven through a chain, gears, cam, etc. All the engines i've fitted crank trigerred ignitions to have been transformed, it's just hard to justify the cost on a stock 1725.

have the gutter drain holes at each corner become blocked / filled?

The lack of roof lining in the cab will be making the the condensation worse due to the sharper temperature gradient between cold steel and (mildly) warmer damp air. Some form of think stick on foam would help buffer this.
