Our village has an 'outsized' rubbish collection once a year. There are small mountains of all sorts of stuff, sofas, TV's, old fence panels, washing machines etc. The porblem is that during the three days the council take to collect these mountains the area is crawling with *&$%* people sifting through these heaps to salvage any scrap metal and items they can make a few quid with. I am sure they also closely scan the area for anything else that is not bolted down. While I was at work today man with a large 4x4 and trailer pulled up outside our house. He knocked on our door and asked my wife if his vehicle disposal services were of any use noting my PB along side the house. My wife politely said his services were not required.
When my wife told me I thought:
Cheeky sod [:(!]
Grrrr....Get a job...Start paying taxes etc.. etc.

Needless to say I have fired the van up, reversed it tight up against the house and blocked it in with my car. It only has the standard Commer 'security' devices which barely make it sneeze proof.

this happens where i am all the time[V]but have actually had lots of respectfull people stop and take an interest too,so far so good [^]
 
I hate it when people do that!! its your latest project and likely as not isnt in pristine condition then some git comes up and askes if you want to scrap it[V]
 
it's not the ones that knock on the door you have to worry about it's the ones that don't [V]just take whats not anchored down[:(!] and some councils [xx(]
 
I had mine parked behind wrought iron gates and visible from the road, hardly a week went by without somebody wanting to 'do us a favour' and move it. What was more worrying were those who parked on the end of the drive and weighed it up [:(!]. Now the iron gates have been replaced with wooden ones and Harvey is safely out of the way at 'the back of the garage' but would love to be able to get admiring glances out on the road :).
Anyway Martin what have you been up to, the last count was three I think [?][?][?]
