Hi folks,i'm new on this forum,just became the owner of a '72 highwayman. The old zenith carb is running a bit rich, wondered if there is a replacement weber available new? Fitted a weber kit to an old land rover some years ago,i think that had a zenith also.The difference it made to the engine was remarkable. But with all the different levels of tune for the 1725,i guess any new carb would have to be jetted specifically for the commer? Then there's the height clearance too.Any ideas? Hiya Cyril and, as they say around here, welcome to the mad house. There has been quite a bit of talk about various carb conversions on here but I think Speedy Spares have new original ones available and Commerchris also had one for sale, not sure if it is still available but she's always hanging round so I'm sure she will let you know soon. Not sure whether it means weber replacement of zenith or some other replacement for a weber?!
I am sure someone on here had a weber but they hadn't had much joy with it?

Hi Cyril, Welcome to the forum and the joys of Commer ownership. Webers damn fine things - have a friend who spent a weekend experimenting with jet sizes on their carb (can't remember offhand if they are zenith or weber:I) will try and pick their brains and put how they got on as a posting on the forum.
