Carb loading

Whilst perusing Ebay I came across this:

My 1725 Commer PB is a pig to start and is unreliable in the carb area.

Will this be a straight replacement ?

No it looks like the same carb but it will be jetted wrong for the commer you are better buying the webber conversion from speedy spares runs alot better with on of these on it.There pricey but will pay for there selves in the long run as you will get more mpg;)
 
Thanks Jon - After the amount I'm going to spending on the bodywork I may go for the pricey but reliable option - afterall going from a rusty brokendown van on the side of the road to a shiny brokendown van on the side of the road isn't much of an improvement.

Will the weber replacement take the K&N filter I bought for the Zenith

Yes it should do it comes with a sleve for the venture to make it the same size as the zenith.Ive got one on my van and it ran alot better another well worth doin mod is bining the points and getting an electronic ignition kit there about 70 pound ish;)
 
hi ohhhh,i'm sure lads and lasses know this any way but i didn't at the time,on some models for what ever reason the zenith carb was restricted not only jet but the port was a lot smaller,i replaced with new unrestricted carb was instantly smoother running mpg difficult to test van still not been on road,webber and electric dizzy the answer but like everything its down to cost,carb from newark autojumble old new if you know what i mean,think was 40-50 quid;)
