went to the nec yesterday and think the prices are getting out of hand.turning up on the day it was £23 to get in,think the car parking was £8.bottled water and soft drinks £1.70
you also get shiny car syndrome where after a couple of hours every stand seems the same
dont know if its just me but i get more enjoyment out of looking at exhibits that are used or needing a bit of tlc than stand after stand of dont enter and certainly dont touch
 
I know what you mean. I hardly went round the cars at most of the shows I went to this year, preferred to browse the autojumble and stay on the stand chatting to the other members of the club. The club I'm in (Northwest Casual Classics) regularly gets prizes and the majority of the cars are very tidy but not show winners in their own right but combined they put on a diverse and interesting display[^]

Hi All Heidi & I also went to the NEC today.
It was expensive to get in and to park, and the auto jumble wasn't up to much. However we had a good day getting there at around nine and didn't leave until six.
We meet up with some old frends and acquaintances, oh and some interesting Commers too.

Nice pick up.

I've been attanding shows for a number of years no and I agree that you almost get 'shiny' vision and pass by most of the classics these days. I think the best comments I've ever had was when I took along my old 1947 Minx to the Bristol Classic Car show a few years back, she hasn't been done up, we don't polish her and the interior is rather 'frankenstein' like. But it got people talking about memories etc not 'what type of polish we use?' or or 'how often do we wash her?' etc.

Although saying that a lot of comments I got were wuite negative, like the chrome needs replating or the tyre walls are a bit cracked etc Can't ever please the purists!

pics look great i recognise the bottom 3 of the two martins but who owns the coachbuilt at the top[?]they all look great even woolfs unfinished one[^]:D

saw that,it was getting lots of attention,also a sunbeam talbot in a similar state
another odd thing this year was how many exhibits kept there bonnetts closed,
 
You could easily forget to lift your bonnet unless your are big show off :Dyou take it for granted most of the time whats under there when it's all working well.went to a show once pulled up & racer said pull the bonnet I said what for thinking the worst :I
