Campsite near Christchurch Recommendation?

Anyone got a recommendation for one? Suitable for kids & campfires & easygoing. I hate those crowded sites with marked out pitches and no smiling after 9 pm.....

Cheers

If you mean Christchurch New Zealand - no idea!! If you want Christchurch Dorset, the only one I can recommend is Redshoot at Linwood nr Ringwood, only about 30 mins from Christchurch, I know CVF had a meet there last year, (they doin't allow camp fires thou[V]

Moley and Brian the Snail :)

Thanks Chris. Last time we went away it wouldnt stop raining.

Thanks Moley. I'm going to start with Dorset so may check out Redshoot, then work up to NZ.

Cheers

Open fires are't allowed in many places I think. I've just got a bucket barbecue which is like a halfway house between barbie and open fire. Works pretty well, doesn't make much of a mess and fits in one of the cupboards.

Know there are quite alot of sites within the New Forest.. no electric or loos though, but really nice sites if your equipped with your own loo etc...... I'll try and find a few links tomorrow of places that we have visited :)

Sandford Holiday Park in Wareham was great off peak, but think it would be really crowded this time of yr...

Red Shoot was also good for the meet and the pub grub on site was fantastic... They can be a bit strict on what you can and can't do though..

Cazz... had a lucky break to become Graduate commerade!!!!

Thanks everyone.
In the end just did my usual of finding the first pub not advertising satellite TV or pool table in 1/2 mile staggering distance from farmers field with unlocked gate. Theres loads of beauties on the A338 luckily
Another hitch-free 350 mile trip :)
Missed "stomping on the Quay" whatever that was. But did see the raft race & air show.

Cheers
