Hi guys, hope this finds you well. I’m very new here and I’m completing a restoration project for this commer pb ci (think that’s what it is) I’ve got the seats/bed for sale, they are in very good condition were reupholstered in 2018 and I’ve even got the invoice for that. Also got the oven, sink and the units as everything is coming out and I’m tearing poor Betty apart to give her a fresh new lease of life. Long journey ahead but thought I’d offer the parts up here first before I list on eBay. Im based down south in Buckinghamshire. Pics to follow. The seats are being removed this evening and I’ll give them a clean then they’ll be stored in my summerhouse safely.

A blank slate, what are your plans for the interior:)
Well firstly I’ll be fixing all the exterior but wanted to fully strip the inside to see what I’m working with then I’ll go from there. It’s going to be the best looking Commer on the road, that’s the goal. Bit over optimistic which will get shattered I’m sure but we must try!

No, I have ;) lol. Good thing about gutting the interior is that you can rebuild it exactly how you want.

Bettys got solid floor! I cannot believe it

I’ve torn her apart over the last 2 days after work so spent 2 good days on her. She’s looking decent. Had to plug the roof vent as the person before literally had a bit of plastic over it which leaked down into the battoned sides so that’s a bit rotten as you can imagine but it’s a full rebuild anyway.

I also think I’m missing something off the carb so will upload an image here just to double check with you guys as I’m sure you know more than I do!

Certainly nice to discover that it isn’t falling apart lol. I could be wrong but I vaguely remember my carb has that and it worked but I’m sure someone will correctly answer that.

Yeah I’m clueless, she started last week when I test drove her but we had to jump her, got a new battery and she turns but won’t fire up.

I’ve not fully tested yet, I was about to and it started pissing it down so stopped for the day, I’ll grab her some new plugs for sure. I’m praying they are simply to change looks like a simple enough engine for an idiot like me

I wrote 1 to 4 on the ht leads so I didn’t get them muddled up. If you take a plug out, put lead back on and hold spark end bit onto the block it should spark when you turn engine over. I’m sure there’s a youtube clip out there.

Sorry missed the picture of the carb. The open stub on the side is the float chamber breather. You could pipe it away with a length of fuel hose just in case it overflows but don't block it off.
Speaking of fuel hose, if you replace any, make sure use a good ethanol proof type, Gates Barricade is my go to fuel hose which is supposed to be the best.

Panky you are a diamond, I literally blocked it off earlier so when I go out again I will unblock it!

Diamond made a boo boo. It's not the breather it's a vacuum connection for a closed breather system on the original Mini the carb came off. Leave it blocked off as the engine will be sucking in air though it. Sorry for the duff info:oops:
It looks like the float chamber breather is already piped away.
