Hiya matey, im sure somewhere i read that you spoke about you had fitted up the hunter twin downpipe in your Commer and that it fouled the chassis or body.Is this so?, ive kind of loosely fitted the manifold today and it seems the handbrake cable may pose a problem initially, not sure though about the twin downpipes though.

Not quite, I just offered the twin pipe up to the Rapier engine (still on the garage floor) and the angle it stuck out at suggested it might foul the engine bay. It's been done before so I'm sure there shouldn't be to much of a problem, maybe the application of some heat to bend the pipes down to follow the line the original Commer downpipe.
 
If you mean the twin strombergs then yes, it looks like ill be fitting them.The pancake filters for them came today so i can junk the original air box and i shouldnt have any clearance issues..
I plan to use the Commer water pump and thermostat set up.
We will see how things go :)
 
pancake air filters will cost you 2-3 horse power k&n's my man ;)extra 5 horse power,you can even get 2nd hand ones 'cos they last for life [}:)]

Lol i think this conversion is going to my head somehow..i have just woken up after dreaming about finding a small lawnmower in a refuse skip, it was fitted with quadruple SU carbs!!...hahha!..what a beast to cut yer garden with eh!..

Chris have you got a K&N on ran? do you keep it in the original housing or is it a standalone jobby?

70 squids [:0] I bagged a new one off of ebay for 20, BARGAIN. I'm sure dreaming about rummaging in skips has got some deep psychological meaning [}:)]
