Further to my previous 'rant' at Mr Woolfy...see Meets and shows 50th Commer Bash........

I had a conversation with Woolfy today and he is still in 2 minds to join us all at Martins in July!!!!:(

he explained that he is gutted he will not be able to attend in a Commer of his own and will have to come in his work van...again! fair enough, I understand how he feels but....I pointed out again that its being a fan that counts, and lets face it, how many people WILL be attending in a Commer that is only made possible because of Woolfy and his services????

I'm positive that the main thing is that it's him that is present, not a Commer of his own. I reminded him of Martins kind offer, of which he is gratefull of...

I believe it was Bernie who suggested Woolfy take his van by trailer and we could all muck in, in some way or another to help out...Woolfy is very touched by this idea but he has no trailer or tow bar....

Is it all excuses? Is he just being shy? does he have some kind of inferiority complex of his popularity???

I have no idea..

Please all you Commervanfans, comment here with offers of help/support/encouragement/kind words etc....

As I pointed out to him, it's not like most of us will be around for the 100th bash is it!!!???!!!



 
Umm just not good enough woolfy we have a trailer but no tow bar at present Bobs coming wearing one or 2 woolfy panels yeah woolfy is a bit SHY ;)
I have been spreading the word to other commer owners who would like to chat with the mighty one,they will be disapointed.

you got to come woolfy. nobody is going to worry if you come in a commer or not after all its for commer fans and owners and you are both[^] my van may or maynot be ready (eh mr maltas:D) but if not i will also be coming in a work van but i promise to hide it away from the commers:(:I how about it woolfy[?];)

Firstly, may I just say that I am young enough to be at the Commer's 100th bash :D:I

Secondly, Woolfy should be present, not only as a Commer restorer and a supplier of many parts but also as a Commer Van Fan and as member of this community.

Finally, if you don't make it Enigma will make your life hell :D[}:)];)

Woolfy - let me make it simple for you. If you don't attend Commerfest I will have a word with some friends of mine in your local Constabulary and have them make your life Hell. You really don't want me to do that now, do you?

yes he did, but like I said, when I spoke to him today he was in 2 minds again.......just think Woolfy with Bazz on your case 24/7 and my goodself ready to pounce on here, you may aswell accept it's a fair cop and come quietly:D:D you are lucky Panky & Bernie, Scott and many others are not around tonight....plenty of time though[8D]



 
The very meet that me and Mia turned up to we where in a Renault van, there where two people with separate tents (I now know where Panky and Kes (she came all the way from South Wales) a family in a caravan another family in a modern camper van, Woolfy in a works van.
What impressed me was even though I was not in a Commer (It was a bit like the Woolfy’s undergoing repair). We where made most welcome.
As somebody has said earlier these meets are for people who have an interest in keeping Commers on the road.
Woolfy I think that you must be one of the most enthusiastic people on this forum when it goes to preserving Commer vans you put your hart and soul (and a lot of your personal finances) in to keeping other peoples vans and getting them back on the road).
Panky had Harvey of the road for over 10 years but turned up in the little red tent at all the meets.
I am aware after one of the meets that Woolfy had back problems due to not sleeping in a bed. (Now that could be in the back of his mind in his decision on not coming).
But Woolfy you are one of the most liked people on this forum and I for one would like to see you there (You do not need to turn up in a Commer).

Woolfy old chap, me little chum, me old mucker, the inspirational character that has played one of the most important parts in keeping Commers alive - YOU are now a part of Commer history and a leading light in its future - how can such an important figure even think of missing this most important of events. If other pressures prevent you from coming then that can't be avoided and we will resect that and wish you well but to think you might embarrass yourself is just plain crazy - do it for us big man.

We still haven't seen another commer (apart from the ones we looked at) in the flesh or have any faces for the names on here, one we will definately need to know is yours. Be there:D commer or no commer. Can't help with a trailer I am afraid:(

If need be Chris, we can divert up the A14 to Coventry on the way to commerfest and lock him in the toilet cupboard in Pootle.

I feel as gutted as Woolfy, as i am still Commerless myself, and so wanted to be at Commerfest in one of my own. My message to Woolfy is dont worry mate, the fact an event is able to take place at all is due in no small part to you, how many of these Vans you have contributed in saving will probably never be known.
