Burt the 1st of many chapters

First of all I think I should explain the name my mrs has an orange beetle cab which she's called burnie so seeing the van she insists it needs to be called bertie so since I can't think of a name its stuck but shortened to burt .

Well where do I start I had some firm ideas as where I wanted to go with burt but due to much worse water damage than first thought major action needed to be taken .
Tracy s dad being a retired joiner n restoring a few caravans in his kindly offered his services and promptly attacked the damp mouldly interior while I started making my mods but due to weather , sourcing parts and my wedding due in just over 2 weeks I've been flat out but hope to catch up when I get back as the most difficult part to source will have arrived .
Here's some photos for now

Can't see any photo's on my computer

Heres a few of the things ive done to explain the pics

Started to recover the dash due to it being faded
Engine n
bay covers have been sound deadened inside and out then carpeted to reduce noise in the cab
A whole selection of autometer guages ready to be fitted
Stinky fury seat covers changed for snap on ones till i save up to have them trimmed
Front grills ,mirrors and vents colour coded to match the new wheels
Wheels are Schnitzer bmw wheels off my e36 in 17" which ive sanded and painted in graphite grey fitted with adapters from the states .
The adapters are "2 rears and 1" fronts the fronts i had to shoerten the std wheel studs and narrow the stock wheel nuts .
The interior had gotten damp and smelly and the celing was sagging under the weight of water .
The roof ali was lifting this was due to water leaking in and rotting the internal battonsand having noting left to secrew into .
Th van roof is only held up withthe battons and polistiring which was allowing it to sag and dip this is being cured and improved my more battons and moderen insulation boards cut up insted of the old polistiring sheets .
All the external damaged ali angle is being removed and after much searching on the net im having new made with new infill and new mastic
All the stained material off the walls is gone and will be replaced with new but no decisions made yet .
The grey roof is to be painted with white rubberised paint designed for swimming pools so should look good and be nice and waterproof .
Modern lighting , a 240 hook up , a zig unit ,plus more stero stuff all to be fitted and wired whilst the celing is out .
Finially new states plates cos i just like the the only bummer is the paint has bubbled uder the old front number plate but it will have to do for now.
So happy days ahed after a lot more work :D[8D][8];);)[?][?][?]

Im fitting my guages and dash back together whilst im waiting for my gear stick and dash to come back from being painted .

I'd call that quite busy - especially the rocker cover;) What's the sparkly material for?

Cheers panky doesn't feel like I've done a probably cos there's so much to do .
I started doing the splat thing years ago and just like the way it personalises parts .
The bag of sparkle is holagramitic flake that my gear lever n binicle are being painted in .
I've been tidying up the engine bay n wiring while im repairing the rad n fitting an electric fan wiring for the new guages .

I've been reading the Darren Brown book recently, so let me try this:

Your favourite colour is...blue?:D

Lot of work going in there, well done. What did you paint the dash pod with, normal paint? Mines tatty and will look at smartening the front up this winter
