Burnie the Shed MK3

After weeks of posting in other sections with problems, I've promoted the van to "Readers Rides" as Burnie (the shed mk3) is now up and running!!!!!:D:D:D
Not only that, but we actually took him to a local beauty spot yesterday and had a picnic! Not slept in him yet, but son and daughter-in-law did last week, and passed him as OK.
So far, he hasn't travelled far, but this afternoon, we're going to be very brave and take him to our daughter's farm, which is over thirty miles away! Now isn't that brave? We've just been invited to take him to Norfolk in November, but not too sure about that!

Well, what can I say? Burnie drove impeccably! Never missed a beat, and got up to
almost 50mph! Herself pronounced him comfortable, and the dogs didn't complain either. I hope, though, that the petrol guage is wonky, cos according to it, he's used a full tank to go there and back! He did slightly blot his copy-book as he wouldn't start after being left for an hour, but I suspect it was just an airlock/fuel evaporation, as he started after I pulled the pipe off the carb. I can almost forgive him that though, as he went so well otherwise. Well done Burnie!:D
Btw, what's the tank capacity, please?
 
Yeah, Panky, according to the guage, thats about what he did! I'd like to think he can manage a bit more than that!
 
Just got back from ten days away in the "proper" caravan. Good time had by all. but the weather could have been better!
However, I've had a catastrastroke!! Moving Burnie to put the caravan in its bay, got too close to the hedge, and caught the skirt on a projecting rock, hidden by the grass which has grown while we were away! The injury is not life-threatening, just bl**dy annoying, as its something more to do. If the coachbuilt body hadn't been so wide (and the skirt hidden below the body) I wouldn't have hit it. A bit of fibreglass, big hammer and a couple of pop rivets is all it needs, oh and some time! Anyone got any of that to lend me?
 
Evening all. We've just got back from our first night out in Burnie, and we survived it!! Herself, 12year-old grandson and I went to a local pub with a small caravan site behind, only a couple of miles up the road, but far enough to have a bit of fun, and close enough to easily get back if anything did go wrong. Well, nothing did go wrong. We were able to have a meal and a couple of drinks, without the worry of driving home, and it was a real novelty for Jack to sleep "upstairs". A great time was has by all, including a small classic show at the nearby preserved railway. There was a Commer panel van there, from Stourport, so I told the owner about the forum. His van is a blue 73 or 74, sign-written " Bright and Sparkes, Electricians". It was very nice. Next year I might enter Burnie, and have a free night's camping!
