Martin,it was good to chat with you yesterday. Sorry about the boo-boo on the starter! I played around with wires and ignition terminals this morning, and as I said yesterday, the van starts instantly on a hot-wire, but I'm now beginning to suspect that I have a faulty ignition switch too. Sort of a combination of faults, really. I'm planning now to fit a key switch and separate starter button, both of which I just happen to have in my shed. That should cure the problem, once and for all.
