please help.......
how do i fit bunks to my auto sleeper?
where do i fit them and what do i need?
does any one know wher abouts i can purchase these items?
help very lost :(
have trawled thro this wonderful site, found a few hints and tips but none that greatly help me as a complete novice so siply put pls x x:I

I am installing a front bunk at the moment. I purchased 4no. plastic 32mm brackets from Justkampers...£4. I drilled and screw fixed one on each side of the cab, just below the top seat belt anchor point and then made up a couple of 'paddle' shaped plates which bolted on using the cab grab handle bolts. The two other plastic brackets fixed to this. Then you get two 32mm mild steel (or whatever you think is strong enough) and drop them into the brackets. Sleeving some canvas to make the hammock. Really easy I thought.

I've had a few different bunks in my van (also an autosleeper).
You can fit them in the cab (As Razor7 says) above the front seats, or up in the pop-top roof.

The autosleeper company made original fitments for both these places, so you can try to find some original kit, however its a bit rare so some improvisation may be necessary.

I fitted and modified a pair of JustKampers bunks to my van when we first got her. I had to extend the poles with some dowel (they were about 3" too short) and they worked fine and dandy.

Just 2 lengths of stout timber either end with slots cut in rolled up & rolled out positions for bunk poles to sit in. These screwed into frame of pop up roof. Wouldn't have trusted it with full sized people [:0]

There is space to have one either side but mine only had one fitted.

You could probably get the pop-top roof bunk from someone second hand, but the front bunk seems harder to come by.

Like BMM says (and his photo's show) it is easy to make up something for the front cab. His brackets in the photo show an original bracket I think, but I got the 32mm plastic ones from JK and made up a flat metal bracket and bolted it on using the two grab handle bolts...works really well. Could easily take a 7-8 stone child.

mmm front bunk, not considered that, thanks chaps x [;-)] my daughters are itching to sleep in wilf, but with no bunks as yet its a no no. soon be there x so glad i found this site, your all so helpful and friendly
 
Bench seat folds down into an (almost) double bed, trouble is it's not over comfortable as a driving seat :I

lol could be interesting... ok if you have enough rust holes in the front of your van though :D
