Hi Gang,
woolfie has done the decent thing and sold me a couple of bunks (the kind that fit in little boxes at the side of the van), so I'm in need of a little help and advice.

First, how do the boxes fit to the side? It looks as though they screw throug the headlining at the side, but I don't know if there is any wood there to screw into?!

Also I don't have any brackets, anyone got some for sale? Or even some dimensions so I can make some.

Harvey has one bunk that sits in an open trough on the drivers side of the van. Obviously not the same as yours but the method of fixing might be the same.

It's difficult to see but I think it is supported along the length by the baton the curtain pelmet is attached to. This in turn will be screwed to the side of the van.

thanks for the pics panky, thats really usefull, it looks like Jess has had some bunks in the past, there are two little sliding locks on the box and they line up perfectly with two little (badly filled) holes in either end of the roof space and that bracket looks pretty simple to make.
Interestingly, harvey's bunks are at window height, but the ones I have seem to fit at roof height (just below the poptop)

looks like you'll be needing some of the woolfster's cupwashers and screws panky!

I had trouble cleaning the head lining of a Triumph Herald I had, I even tried bleach[:0] but the brown tinge just wouldn't be shifted. In desperation I gave the head lining two coats of vinyl silk emulsion and I challenge anyone to spot it had been painted - it was perfect (apart from the bits I had over-painted, door seals etc)and it lasted years until I sold the car. I think I'll get the paint pads out for Harvey when the time comes because I know the result will be OK.
If you have a head lining stain type issue then get out the Dulux - it really does work [8D]

Green on the wheels [V][V][V] - At least they were - a rough (very rough) coat of black hammerite last weekend has made things a lot better! :D
 
)I will take some photo's during the week the box screw into wood just below the folding top,(make sure thr box is closed_ then the bolts bolt into the side to keep it in place when travelling. The haock then go into two brackets(same as the ones on ebay ;)

post'em post'em post'em! I'm hoarding a little collection of "usefull" stuff, and I'm finding that just another piccie from another angle can make all the difference.

The bit that has me foxed at the moment is how the box attaches to the van along the long end. I think I need more daylight and a helper to hold the bunk up while I take a look at it...

A photo of a hammock in position would be most helpful as I have the same thing where I can see where the front goes but can't see how the rear fits in - There is a indent in the floor where a pole goes but it does'nt line up with the end of the shelf
 
Given the photos to date and grateful comments does the Autosleeper conversion only have one bunk attached to the side shelf ?
 
There was a multitude of combinations, some without, some over the cab, some on a shelf and others in boxes - one or two fitted [:0]

I took sybhils bunk out 'cos it was upsidedown & needed repairing,now the screws won't go back in [:eek:)]did they also put some in upside down :I[?]
would also like to know what to screw into & definately an extra pair of hands :)

We've a bunk we would like to fit in to our Autosleeper, It is in the box type mechanism, which fits in to the pop top. The boxes have sliding locks (similar to those mentioned by BMM). Is there any further advice to help us fit it. We could take the bunk out the box and fit it into the trough like Panky has - would this be a better option? Or BMM did you fit the box, and if so how/and any photo's!! We do have a second bunk we could fit aswell, but the other side has no trough.
