Bumble the Commer restoration begins!!

actually the owner took most of the paint from the van himself ,and left it out in the rain before dropping off the van at our unit, he just didnt get round to finishing it , so i set mike too it for him because it was covered in surface rust.not good. it just goes to show that when you buy a van it may look great, but under neath this sort of crap may be lurking.

yes as you can see poor old bumble isnt in as good a shape as first thought to be, once you start stripping the paint and filler off these are the sort of horrors you start to uncover and find.down the sides of the cab by the guttering, i noticed it had filler bodged in all the way down to the bottom which looked a bit suspect, so i took it off with the wire wheel only to find that there was hardly any metal in the corner at all and there was just an inch gap of rusty cannyon. they hadnt even atempted to weld in any new metal they just filled it in with p38 filler .(nice). so i did the right thing and plated her up for good.shes going to look a lot better when she leaves here than when she arrived thats for sure.
It must be a hive of activity at woolfy's place - what with two auto reso's on the go - and this one.
