Broken gearbox

I wasn't in the van at the time but the car behind got a windscreen full of oil and the van lost all drive.

Lot of effort to change a gearbox, seems a shame only to put 4 gears back in... Commeracer have you got any ideas?
 
I once broke one on a Super Minx it was on a 4 poster ramp, I was doing the clutch and the box would not come out so I went to get a friend to help and when I got back the gearbox fairy's must of dropped it as it was in bits on the floor :( fortunately it was a standard box so I had a few to choose from.

Oh dear [B)] Well it would be possible to weld it, but there may be some alignment issues to overcome. Option 2 is a replacement, option 3 is 'roll a six' ;):D

I' ve got some epoxy putty that say it bonds metal...

I'm intrigued to know what has broken, driver says it was vibrating when easing off the power a bit like when a UJ is on the way out before it broke. Perhaps one of the bearings in OD packed up causing the localised destruction. I'll post some more pictures once I take it apart.

Bought the gearbox 10 years ago via an ad in the local paper for £50. Guess the 10,000 miles I've had out of it have been fairly good value.

Commeracer- I understand your conversion is a similar price ;) what's your number and when a good time to call?
