Breather pipe problem

Hi guys I was hoping to get "X-Box" up and running today but the breather pipe that goes on the side of the engine is lose, I can't get it in the bracket that it is supposed to go through.

An ideas do I need to replace it as the rubber seems very hard.

I can add pictures later!

Doesn't serve any real function, apart from clogging up the air filter with oil :I
Best thing is, get some rubber pipe and re-route it into one of the chassis legs- anti rust treatment ;)

No don't blank it off you will pressurise the crankcase[:0]. At the very least just run a piece of hose from the breather down the side of the engine so it vents out of the way.
