Brake master cylinder

Hi again...question of the day.

My brake master cylinder has been modified and I’m asking what it should be like.
The clutch master cylinder just had a plastic cap on the top to fill with fluid however the brake master cylinder had a modification to the lid which was then linked to a brake fluid reservoir at the rear right hand of the engine bay.
I understand a brake reservoir is an original part.
But how does the reservoir normally feed to the master cylinder if not through the lid on the master?

Photos show the modified brake master cylinder and the brake fluid reservoir. Does anyone know where to find a replacement reservoir? I’m guessing Martin might have one.

Brake and clutch cylinder should look like this. Looks like someone at some point has fitted a clutch cylinder to the brakes.

Now two Colins come along together! But Mr Stewart, you didn't need to cut a hole in the floor to take the photos.

I'm too late, but the master cylinder should look like this.........



The van is in a nice dry garage, but is still dripping with condensation today.

Excellent thank you both, that has explained a lot. Now that makes sense the hose leading to the reservoir. Not the copper pipe joined in three places!

Yours is the early van, so both clutch and brake have the reservoir in the master,unlike the pics above.
