Ive got a problem.Both seal kits ive got dont fit even though they 'should' do.The van is a 1975 Highwayman and both kits are 'supposed to be' for the van. Ive checked the part numbers and the van should have the 5038191/KL71535 kit (up to 1976)which I have.Have a look at the pics below..

This one shows the master cylinder taken off the van and the internal parts including the seals (just below the master cylinder body;))

This pic is a close up of the seals taken out of the current master cylinder (note both have a hole in them)

This pic shows the 2 new kits I have against the old set for comparison.Top set is the a spare kit that came with the van,second down is a kit ive just bought (slightly different internal diameter of the hole of the first set) and lastly the bottom set is the seals out of the current master cylinder.As you can see the top 2 only have one seal with a hole in it (which doesnt fit because they are thicker then the old one anyway)

Sorted ;) the correct kit has a leaflet inside telling you that 'some cylinders in the same range, have a flat top seal'.

I have a similar problem to this one. The 5038191/KL71535 Master Cylinder Repair Kit (up to 1976)doesn't fit?

My Commer is a 1968?

We took Burnie out this morning to the dog walk, all of two miles away, and he didn't break down once! Some friends said they saw someone writing down my phone number, but I'm not getting excited! I've got "for sale" notices in the window, but all I've had is time-wasters!You know the ones: "I'll ring you back". Why don't they just say "no thanks"?

The seals I need are the ones with 2 holes in them, I one I have have a one with a hole and one sealed. Also the silver washer is to big?

As for the Commer she's a Autosleeper from what I've looked into. In need a some tlc. We brought her about 3 weeks ago with the plan to travel the UK for a couple of weeks. But first I need to get her MOT'd.

She was used as a daily runner up until August last year when the master cylinder went and the alternator played up.

Strangly she's an auto, are there many of these ones around nowadays?

Autos seem to be incredibly rare from what's turned up on the forum - would really love to see some pics if you can get some sorted:p:p:p

I got mine from Martin-sounds like the ones I needed for mine,im atucally having a break from reinstalling it right now
