Bonnie

Bonnies fridge was one of the tiny Electrolux ones that ran on 240v only, great with a hook up but not much use in a field with no power.
So I got this

Gas only but the biggest that could possibly fit in the space under the worktop. It needed a little work as the botton of the door panel was rotten (must have been in a Commer:rolleyes:) and the igniter was missing except for the electrode. Looking around on ebay revealed that the igniters were rather pricey so I improvised a bit:)

One piezo bagged for £3.95 and a length of wire.

Secured to the bottom of the fridge with an old gate bolt guide and attached to the electrode.

Everything cleaned up and a new door front was cut out and painted with Ford Antelope Beige
Here it is at Moffat, worked really well. Vent is a period Electrolux one, awkward thing to fit with so little room and made me wince when I had to cut a hole in Bonnie's flank:(

I also nicked the 240v element out of the old fridge and that works too. Cold beer what ever:D
I also made a hinged flap to fit underneath the fridge to match the one on the opposite side to finish it off.

The cool boxes are great and we use one a lot in the awning if we've got a hook-up, but if there's no electric on tap a leisure battery doesn't last long running one:(

In fact I don't drink any more..............................................................don't drink any less either:)

MOT tomorrow, 10 o'clock. I only found a sticky wheel cylinder that needed doing so hopefully they wont find anything else:)

Passed:)
Got an advisory on rusty front springs even though the tester said they were perfectly OK. Apparently there are so many moderns coming back in with broken springs, a couple of months after being checked in the MOT, that the instruction is to give an advisory for even the slightest bit of surface rust so it can be proved that the owner has been warned should a failure occur:rolleyes:
I think I'll take them off and paint them next year - yeh right;)
