I'd love to know how to convert video so that I can put it on the computer. I've got loads of old cine film converted to video 8 format of our Commer (JKT) taken in the late 60's and an epic journey through Europe in 1970 (includes the then brand new Hoverlloyd hovercraft 'Swift') from Ramsgate to Calais.
I've also got footage of our Triumph Mayflower circa 1963 when I was very very young (honest).[}:)]

The simplest way would be to get your videos onto VHS (or have you got one of those adaptor tapes that the video 8 cassette sits in?)Then all you need is a DVD recorder, so you can transfer from one to the other. Next, assuming you have a DVD drive on your PC, save the files on your PC and do with it what you want. Hopefully share it with the rest of us by putting it on Photo-bucket or U tube :)

I found this link through Google. It goes through some fancy methods but comes to the conclusion that the VHS/DVD route is the simplest and best. Hope this helps.

Thanks for that advice. I don't have a dvd recorder, but I'm sure someone I know has one, then it sounds fairly simple.
Get ready to be bored by my old films!

Don't you just love modern leckytronics [^], I can't wait to be bored I only wish I had some old vids to convert myself (hang on I haven't got a DVD recorder either [V]). We will wait with baited breath :)
