Bit of a scare!!

Thanks. I would doubt it is laminated as they were more expensive to produce and Rootes / Chrysler would be keeping manufacturing costs to a minimum.
Toughened glass is safety glass I believe as it shatters but isn't supposed to break like ordinary glass that's why its in shower cubicles and fitted at the bottom of stairs.

Wow that's an eye opener. Glad it didn't cause to much trouble. I naturally assumed that mine was laminated. Is this not the case?

Same thing happened to my Imp in 2009 just off the ferry at Harwich. Drove all the way to Finchley with the whole screen frosted but intact being blinded every time I passed under a street light. So relieved to get home I got out and swung the door shut .

The whole screen fell into the footwells and down the demister vents. I was still picking up bits of glass last year, got the last of it out when I stripped the Imp down for resto'.

Windscreen company would only fit laminated, took a couple of days to get the only one they had in stock to my local depot. All fitted for a £50 excess.

Yes we thought a gun went off BANG in a rough area iirc a guy in Holland brings laminate screens over iirc
Glad you are ok sorry we couldn't make the meet xxx

Huge bummer. My van needs new glass and seal. It has always felt a little sketchy driving around, it already has a crack . I was quoted 1050.00 to get one to the states, and through my pilkington dealer 950.00 and 7 months. Looks like im going to have to fit it in the budget asap
