Bell Housing Help

If I swap the input shaft over for the Commer one then I can use the Commer (shorter) bell housing - that way the box will be at the right angle and I won't need to alter the gear linkage. It would be the best solution to the problems - it just depends on how brave I feel :I I'm going to cheat and actually follow the manual, removing the shaft is step 15 in the strip-down procedure [V] I need to make some dummy selector shafts before I start.

if you can hand on until the meet I'll let you have mine if you like! I used some steel pipe from B&Q for the selecter shafts and I took an angle grinder to a scrap layshaft for the layshaft one.
