Bazil's 1972 Commer PB

And finally I have finished the top of the rear Corner / Cone!!!! About time...
All cleaned up, then the seams were sealed with Tigerseal and then a good coating of Acid 8 Etch Primer. I have not used any filler anywhere yet, so I am pretty happy that it is looking pretty good without having to use any yet!.
Decided to trial fit the door:
Its seems to be a very good fit considering I completely cut the rear frame off and couldn't refit the doors until now.
Gap is fractionally wider at the top, but I think it is purely down to the thickness of paint at the bottom half compaired to a thin coat of Etch at the top. (bear in mind that the near-side door is yet to be fitted) so I am very pleased so far.
Hopefully get the near-side Cone welded up tomorrow and maybe repair the side panel and rear corner ready to fit it. Stay tuned!

As far as being on the road, I do have the advantage of the chassis being rock solid and it being a very good runner (with Tax!).
I am not going to post any pictures up as they will only be a repeat of what has been posted before for the other side, anyway, pretty much repaired and welded up the Rear Cone for the Passenger side.
Aiming to finish it tomorrow and get some aquasteel and primer on it and (fingers crossed) get the necessary repairs done on the van to fit it.
Also bought some more Acid 8 primer and a can of High Build primer which I found to be much cheaper at the local Halfords than the TRADE supplier I have been getting things from!!!

I am not the biggest fan of naming vehicles, but my wife did ask a similar question on the drive back from Commerland with the new roof and I think the closest that we (that means my wife) came up with was Blue Jean.
Basically, because I want the van to be blue when it is finished and also because the roof and rear section came off Green Bean, so, we (my wife [B)]) ended up with a similar name, Blue Jean.

Repaired Nearside Cone with my repair patch
Rear Corner repaired, welded and Aquasteeled
Cone Aquasteeled
Cone welded into place and Aquasteeled
Tigersealed and Primered
The doors seemed to fit ok, the gap varied a bit on the nearside but I can remedy that when I sort the doors out.
I was very happy with this cone repair, seemed to take a lot less time and I got a better finish. My welding and grinding must be improving.
Also started stripping off the remaining gutters etc and bits of rof ready for cleaning up and welding the new gutter on. Original target for lifting the roof on was Wednesday the 3rd, so I will see how it goes.
