As at 30th May. An unexpected issues was that the previous owner during sanding down the paint had, probably, used to hard a sander so there were scratches on the metal taht had since oxidised where she'd been left out to the elements. This has meant going back to the metal all over her, which is why she's mostly shiny and silver. There was a bit of work to do on the roof and some final fine sanding and she'll be off for a respray this week. And as I've got used to her dressed in green, she's going to be sprayed all over British Racing Green. Kinda of the time and I toyed with all sorts of colour combinations but think it'll look great....we'll have to wait and see [8D]

yes like paul said the guy who owned the van before must have used something too abrasive before to rub the van down and left lots of little scratches all over the van which were down to the metal,these had oxidized with the air leaving lots of whirrly looking scratches every where. if these are not removed it could react with the paint afterwards resulting in loads of micro blisters popping up months later.so its off with the paint and a bloody good sanding all over.i think its going to look great once finished. shame its cost a bit more getting the paint right though as lots more work involved.
well my friends the time has come to say good by to this little beauty , because it was suppose to have been picked up mid week some time to go off for her new coat of paint .but we had a delay in the transportation department, so now its going on monday morning. to be honest it was a good job really because what with all the excitement going on and pressures of getting vans ready i totally forgot to weld into place the new front door brackets to the inner cills. i can just imagine what would of happened if it had been painted and then i put big burn marks into it. (oh my god) what would i have done then hey. but hey ho its ready for the off now so all is looking good for final takeoff countdown. i will post a few more piccies tomorrow as my batteries were flat in me box brownie today. sorry bass am i forgiven. oh just remind me it was that sh-tty chocolate brown colour scheme you wanted wasnt it.[?]

your a star mate once again. i dont knoe what i would do with out you as my editor. yes its taken a while to get here what with a few hold ups ect. but we are finally under way with the spraying now, she should be wearing her new coat by saturday if all goes well. i tell you what a lot of blood and tears has gone into getting this van to where it is at now. its been a long hard slog and a very tuff learning curve for me and the guys. but i can see the finishing line in front of me now and i dont want to fall at the last herdal. i just cant wait to see the end result to be honest, so i can stand back with my brother friends who have helped me and say( i did that),with a big grin on my face. i just hope paul loves it once its finished as ive chosen the luverly colour, i will show you a glipse tomorrow its sh-t hot if i say so myself.
