Hi I am still preparing my camper to be re sprayed. I have found some rust behind one if the rubbers on the back window. I was wondering how hard it is to take out the back windows.
Pretty easy, gently lift the rubber seal up from the inside with a flat scraper or large screw driver around the edges so it's not stuck to the door. Then pull it back with your fingers on the inside around one edge and push it firmly with the palm of one hand where you've pulled the seal back and it will eventually push out - best to get someone on the outside to catch it as it does. If you are replacing the rubbers anyway just cut the inside edge of the seal off and push.
Hi panky, I am talking about the rear windows. I have had a good look around and there does appear to be quite a lot of rust. The seals are in quite good condition so they should come off and go back on o.k. Would I be best to replace the rubbers?
It's all one piece, the seal is an 'H' in cross section - the glass sits in a groove on the inside of the 'H' and the window frame on the outside of the 'H'.
